In this hour-long workshop, we describe a basic Rumba routine consisting of Rumba Walks and a wide variety of basic figures.

The idea of this routine, because it contains so many types of Rumba walks and actions, is to help you master the basics while still being able to dance an interesting routine. We go over the technique for each part of the routine. The workshop encompasses two different classes, ending up being over one hour in length. We made a small modification between weeks one and two, adding an Underarm Turn and Hand to Hand before the slow Spiral.

The routine:
Open Break
Cuban Rocks
Open Break
Open Hip Twist to Fan
Overturned Hockey Stick
New Yorks x 2
Underarm Turn to Left
Side Steps
Open Cuban Rocks
Underarm Turn
Hand to Hand
Slow Spiral
Aida
Double Spot Turn x 2
Back Walks
Underarm Turn
Opening Out Side to Side x 3
Closed Hip Twist
