Dual Teachers for Every Group Class

You’ll learn to dance with George and Wendy Pytlik, who achieved the ranking of third in Canada in the challenging Ten Dance category and were BC’s top Latin couple in the 30+ age category for 7 consecutive years. George and Wendy, both certified with the Canadian DanceSport Federation, have taught more than 4,000 group classes. That means, rather than just one teacher with a helper that could be just someone else from the class, you get two experienced and certified instructors to show you how to dance.

Why Delta Dance?

Your feet have never had it so good. There are a number of reasons why Delta Dance is your best choice for learning to dance.

First, every group class benefits from two professionally certified teachers. This is a pretty big deal, because at almost every studio you’ll get one professional teacher who might or might not be professionally certified. That means the one person has to explain both roles and needs to use an inexperienced person from the class to show the partnership in action. In our classes, you get to see how the partnership works with both teachers bringing accurate information that’s been tested through the certification process.

In addition, we have a very effective teaching approach that’s been proven to get you up to speed quickly and comfortably. We’ve seen other beginner classes in action. Most of them come with an expectation that you already know things that people first learning to dance usually don’t know. In fact, many people come into their first-time beginner classes not even being sure of which foot is which! Our system was developed by Andy Wong of Grand Ballroom fame. We were mentored by Andy for years to adapt his system after he and his wife retired from running their ballroom, the largest in Canada. It’s a system that actually works, and was proven with more than 18,000 people over 20 years.

We take you through every single step in a way that breaks things down so that you actually know what you’re doing. As a result, many students leave their very first class already being comfortable dancing some of the basic figures. That doesn’t mean you’ll go through the system once and be ready to hit the social dance floor. This might happen, but it’s rare. Most people need to go through the program 3 or even 4 times before they are fully ready to go out dancing with confidence. But we’ve seen other beginner programs and we know our system is far superior to what’s generally out there.
