The Outside Swivel is a popular and beautiful figure that fully characterizes the Tango.

There are actually four different variations, or "methods" of the Outside Swivel. This 40-minute workshop explores the three most popular methods, along with the entry to them using a Reverse Turn. We review the proper technique for the Open Reverse Turn, Lady Outside and the Reverse Turn, Lady Inside. The Lady Outside version is most often used to end in an outside partner position that sets up nicely for an Outside Swivel. We then look at Outside Swivel Methods 1 and 2. The workshop concludes with a look at the Reverse Outside Swivel, a more complex figure that begins with a modified Reverse Turn. Recorded during a Kinvillage Intermediate group class.
