There Will Never Be Another You

Artist: Keely Smith

Album: Ultimate Ballroom Album 4

Song Length: 171

George's Thoughts: The original version of this song is too fast for Slow Foxtrot, unless slowed down by the DJ to regulation speed. That seems to be true of most of the vast number of versions out there, some all the way up to Quickstep speed. Frank Sinatra's version is at the opposite end of the spectrum -- much too slow for dancing. The one found on "The Ultimate Ballroom Album 4" has been slowed to 29bpm from Keely's original speed of 34bpm. Casa Musica's version uses vocals by Andy Williams. I haven't heard his original to see if they have also modified the speed to fit the desired tempo of 29bpm.

Song Lyrics:

This is our last dance together,
Tonight soon will be long ago.
And in our moment of parting,
This is all I want you to know...

There will be many other nights like this,
And I'll be standing here with someone new.
There will be other songs to sing,
Another fall...another spring...
But there will never be another you.

There will be other lips that I may kiss,
But they won't thrill me,
Like yours used to do.
Yes, I may dream a million dreams,
But how can they come true,
If there will never, ever be another you?

[musical bridge]

Yes, I may dream a million dreams,
But how can they come true,
If there will never, ever be...
Another you?
