DESCRIPTION:We look at developing a skilled understanding of the International style Waltz. The program includes insight to correct timing\, footwork\, musicality and movement for Bronze figures (and a few variations) as well as some Silver figures and even some Gold figures such as the beautiful Contra Check. This program is divided into two series. The first two weeks we’ll cover some of the figures. The next time this intermediate dance comes around we’ll add more figures to complete your understnading of this iconic dance. These step patterns are put into groups so that you can easily mix and match the different groups to create your choreography on the fly as you dance. This program is perfect for anyone who has done our Beginner program as the Social or Rhythm Foxtrot includes some of the same figures. It’s also well suited to anyone with any dance experience\, because it’s a relatively simple dance to learn\, even if you’ve never danced Smooth Foxtrot before. This dance is dramatically different from the International-style Slow Foxtrot. It’s simpler\, easy to learn\, and offers opportunities to dance when music is too fast for Slow Foxtrot.
